Cartier Auckland
Cartier Auckland — Bespoke Sculptural Chandelier
A bespoke sculptural chandelier created for the new Cartier store in Auckland, developed through an international design process and realised through the collaboration of specialist glassmaking and architectural lighting expertise.
The Project
James Russ became involved in the early design development of the chandelier in 2022. The concept evolved over several years through collaboration with international design teams, including G4 Group in Barcelona and PARA Designworks in Hong Kong.
Following this design development, the process was handed over to Monmouth Glass Studio. James was subsequently engaged to help resolve the original concept and develop the sophisticated lighting technology required to make the sculpture functional.
Lighting & Technical Development
James Russ developed a highly refined LED lighting system specifically for the chandelier, integrating the technology into the sculptural glasswork while maintaining the purity of the original design.
James worked closely with Monmouth Glass Studio and talented glass artist Isaac Katzoff to bring the finished work to life.
The result is a highly resolved sculptural chandelier created specifically for the Cartier Auckland environment.
