MY LIGHTING DESIGNS ARE INSPIRED BY MY DEEP IMMERSION IN NEW ZEALAND’S NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.

Tauranga

2020

This collection of lights draws inspiration from the rustic, industrial homes nestled in the serene rolling hills of Wanaka. Given the wide array of materials adorning this family home, it was imperative for the resulting lights to seamlessly blend with the color scheme and ambiance of each space. The client was captivated by the Infinity design, its graceful curves providing a subtle contrast to the strong angles predominant in the environment. James skillfully reimagined the Infinity, crafting a new lighting configuration with enhanced luminance suitable for the high ceilings, ensuring efficient task lighting for the bustling family household. The refined slimmed-down silhouette imparts a sophisticated touch, brightening up the dining and living areas with a gentle radiance.

For the central hub of the residence, the kitchen island, a more pragmatic solution was sought. The Blade pendant emerged as the ideal choice, boasting a weathered steel finish and a warm, inviting glow that bathes the countertop in light. James incorporated a dimmable feature, perfect for those intimate late-night conversations around the island, casting a soft, golden hue. This exquisite light collection serves to accentuate the remarkable features that grace every corner of this magnificent Tauranga abode.
