Hei Matau Home

Phase is a member of the Hei Matau family of lights. It is a wall sculpture elegantly mounted on a large wall of exquisite travertine stone.

This expansive outdoor setting, featuring views of Takapuna Beach and Rangitoto in the distance, required a subtle lighting solution with no obvious light source that would harmonize with the color palette of the home. The Phase sculpture seamlessly integrates into the travertine wall, gently undulating with the stone’s texture and mimicking the contours and waves that surround it. Phase is constructed from slender brass strips and incorporates a warm white LED that runs the length of each piece, cleverly concealed behind the sculpture to diffuse light in all directions.

The brass has been carefully aged and sealed to protect it from the elements, maintaining a subtle shine.

This piece symbolizes the ebb and flow of life's journey, acknowledging both the subtle shifts and the dramatic dips we experience.
