Hei Matau Home

Phase is one of the Hei Matau family of lights. A wall sculpture proudly mounted to the travertine wall that clads this stunning home in rich, textured blocks.

This large outdoor setting, with views of Takapuna Beach and Rangitoto in the distance, required something subtle with no obvious light source and fit with the colour pallet of this home. The Phase sculpture nestles into the travertine wall seemlessly, slowly undulating with the stone’s texture, seeming to mimic the contours and waves surrounding it. Phase is made with thin brass lengths and has a warm white LED strip that runs the length of each piece, concealed behind and pushing light in all directions.

The Brass has been slowly aged and then sealed against the elements to keep a slight shine to brass.

This piece represents the ebb and flow of life’s journey and acknowledges the subtle shifts and dramatic dips that we go through.
