Infinity
Infinity Pendant
A James Russ design, evolving since 2002
The Infinity Pendant is one of James Russ’ earliest and most enduring designs. First created in 2002, it began life in James’ small shop in Birkenhead, where he made and sold the lights at an accessible price while building his practice and supporting his young family.
More than twenty years later, Infinity remains one of James’ most successful lighting designs. What began as a simple timber pendant has evolved through years of making, refinement and experimentation into a highly considered piece of sculptural lighting.
The form is deliberately simple. A continuous flowing curve gives Infinity its distinctive character, while the natural variation of the timber makes every piece unique.
Infinity is available in a carefully selected range of timbers, including American Oak, Ash, Maple and Quilted Cherry. Carbon Fibre is available as a custom option for projects requiring a more contemporary expression.
The latest versions introduce a brass frame option alongside the original stainless steel, as well as an integrated LED system with multiple Kelvin ratings to suit different spaces and lighting requirements.
Despite its evolution, the essential character of Infinity has remained unchanged. It is a warm, tactile object that brings light and natural material together in a simple sculptural form.
Each Infinity Pendant is designed and handcrafted in New Zealand by James Russ.
